Because I Love You

Tue, 01/14/2020 - 20:08 -- Campad

Because I love you,

I can get up in the morning. It may be a simple thing,

But the way you smile at me when you see me get out of my car

Bedhead, too hot tea, and bad jokes and all?

It makes it worth it.

Because I love you

Each day is worth living because it's another day in a world with you in it.

You are the one I am comfortable being with, ever since we met

Eight years ago.

I've loved you since I met you

Even when I didn't know how to love myself.

You opened my eyes and heart to a world I didn't understand, and you

Didn't understand either.

But we had eachother, and

Because I love you

It was enough.

Because I love you

I'm writing this poem.

Love is intangible but I think

I can feel it when I hold your hand

When you text me good morning

When you offer me a peppermint when I cry.

Because I love you

I know how to love the world.

Because I love you.

And you love me too.
