Because I Love You

Because I love you...

I don't get jealous of your friends.

I make you meals.

I treat you like a princess.

Because I love you...

I don't look at your phone without permission.

I don't ask you to hold the world on your shoulders for me

Because we should hold it together.

Because I love you...

I comfort you when you're crying

Even if I don't understand the pain myself.

I don't make suggestions about what you should wear

Or how you should live your life.

Because I love you...

I'll take you as you are.

I won't try to change you

And morph you into what I think

Is the "perfect" image.

Because I love you...

I'll take the good with the bad.

We'll have each other's backs.

We'll spend the rest of our lives together...

Because I love you.
