Because I Love You- A Poem to My Sisters

We don’t get to choose our siblings, but if we could, I’d choose you.

Why?

 Because I love you.

I’ll always be by your side,

And lend you my shoulder when you cry, because I love you.

We can be painfully honest with each other,

Yet tease and make fun of one another, because I love you.

You have all of my trust,

And honestly, I’m happiest when it’s just us, because I love you.

With you I can be my truest me,

And we go together like a flower and a bee, because I love you.

I’m here to talk when you’re feeling reflective

And I’m sorry for sometimes being over-protective, because I love you.

Seeing you smile makes my soul feel glad,

But it breaks my heart to see you feel so sad, because I love you.

I’m always here to console you after a bad day,

And give you a hug when I don’t know the right words to say, because I love you.

Because I love you, you’re more than my sisters, you’re my best friends.

Like a flowing waterfall, my love for you will never end.
