Beginner's Guide to Loving Someone with Depression

Step One: Start by accepting the fact that you cannot cure them. No matter the amount of "i love you"s or acts of affection you give them their brain chemistry will not balance itself out. You must abandon the romantic ideas that love conquers all things and that as catchy as the Beatles's All You Need is Love is it is not realistic in the least. Love is not an instant cure all no matter how big or strong. Realizing this will be discouraging, crushing even, but do not lose hope this, after all the first is only the first step
