Behind The Mask

Happy is a smiling face

Caring and thoughtful

to those who don't know

Sweetheart,

you shouldn't hide

behind that mask

is a beautiful face

Oh Love

the life you have had

A stepfather so careless

Never meant to be a father

Mother too young to be an adult

Stepmom too far in her own pain

Still working through her troubles

Brother who couldn't protect you from

Oh!

There goes that mask

back up again

I would love to see those hazel eyes

Sweety

you're golden brunette hair

Flows behind your back

Yet that horrid mask

But, I have no mask! See: This is my smile. Why do you insist on going farther than you should! I am fine

NO! I do not want help. I don't have a horrible past. You don't know! Why are you causing me this distress?!

Yes

Smile

Smile

All Along

Sweet to everyone

without a thought

You can still be that caring person

Without a mask to hide behind

many people wish to see you

I

                     I

                                                 I

                                                                            I

                                                                                                      I

Wish to see you

Your parents are tough

Unstable

But not to the core

Friends holding your hand

Every step of the way

Yes Darling

There are the tears

The memories are there

Our hands to hold are here

Cry out the pain and hurt

Wash off the dirt

The disgust of those who preyed

Those smiles are real ones now

Yes, your family has caused you pain

But because of them you are stronger

Your life is brighter now

Is it not?

Yes, for there is the look of wonder

In your eyes I see the change

There is a hazel eyed

golden brunette haired

Fair skinned girl

Who has taken the mask off for good. Love has ahold of her heart and is all she sees. She has been hurt, but she dusted that off and found her way. She smiles truthfully, with no pain.
