Behind the Stereotype

Location

“I started the day by taking my pride away,

losing my mind, only to find, the sky is grey.
I’m trying my hardest every day,

but what’ve I got to lose?

The gap hasn’t closed but there’s still tomorrow.
In the meantime, I’ll keep looking low.
Quarter past ten, but it’s always been dark,
so what’ve I got to lose?
I don’t see how you can stay hiding in your disguise,

but here I am running away ‘cause I’m tired of your lies.”

Here they assume is the thought process of one like me.

The only product I make that they can see.

But there’s a different story, in reality.

That’s not the only person I can be.

I’m not just a hard shelled being.

I’m not a soul that needs freeing.

I’m not here for one meaning.
I’m just me.

And I’m here, like you, creating my own story.
