Being Bold

Don't demand the delight of others.

My momma taught me well, she did.

From early on, amidst the coarse sand of the playground, I took her advice.

Don't demand the delight of others.

So I made the decision to be confident.

This searing red confidence grew over time, becoming a strong friend to me.

It doesn't demand the delight of others.

No, it earns it.

It stands up for the broken, it laughs at fear, it embraces loyalty.

This confidence delights others.

Without any demands.

No one's perfect, but at least I can say I can wake up with confidence.
