Being Open

Location

Some will walk the earth without a thread on their back

They are destined to walk their own path

Others are covered; head to toe

Drowning in their own personal woe

Cowering behind their garbed facade

They go on; unaware their way of life is flawed

I wish to expose myself with the others

To be one who tears down boarders

But what if my body is shamed

I’m told I need be tamed

The nevus that my mother adores, mocked

All the faults in my head, gawked

I’ll don the garments which cover me best

And I will just blend in with the rest

I can only keep my head down and grit my teeth

I don’t even remember what I look like underneath
