Belief

The billowing wind, the scent of the sea

The crash of the waves, the sound of silence

And me.

The darkness falls, yet stars gleam bright

As seraphs-in shadows-stand guard,

And protect through the night.

My heart beats without life,

My soul-a flightless bird.

My eyes closed to the world

But not the demons inside.

But belief stills my frantic breath,

As doves-snow white-from the sky-descend,

To wake me from an interims death.

Belief holds strong, affixed to a cross,

The Father, the Son, the Spirit.

With all faith in them, I shall never know loss.

This poem is about:
Me
