Ben and Jerry’s

Mon, 06/17/2019 - 12:40 -- IEG11

Ice cream my favorite snack

Cookie dough chocolate chip in particular

Ben and jerry's

My favorite ice cream place

Downtown silver spring

Ate a lot of my first ice cream’s there

The huge park which I scraped my knee

Probably every time I went

I still wear the band aid from each scrape

Three scoop cone

Ben and jerry day’s

With too many sprinkles on top

I would always complain

The Ice cream cone is taking too long to finish

I was in such a rush to try green bean smoothies

With no sugar,salt or spice

I couldn’t wait to have my last lick of Ice cream

Crack rumble splatter

Drips pouring hard from the heart

I went to ben Jerrys

I ordered a three scoop cone with too many sprinkles

The cone steadily decreased

The ice cream melted right in my hand

Gone

No more ice cream

Woke up to all the bandages off the wounds

All around me are green bean smoothies

Everywhere I turn

There’s no dodging-

But I was blind

And not awoke.

It is now that the sores are burning

Crying for the bandages

The same ones, not different ones

And the cones in the photo albums

Screaming for me to get ben and jerry's

Me even screaming to myself

“Go get ben and jerry's”

Every once in awhile

There’s no storm

Small green bean smoothie

I get ben and jerry's

Only one scoop though

And not a lot of sprinkles

I’m not in control of when the next storm will come

And I don’t have a choice in drinking green bean smoothies

But I still let the the three scoop cones

With too many sprinkles

And the sores with the band aid

Be me.
