Between Love and Hate: The Tradegy of UCSB

Love:

Who is this man?

He hovers, he stares, he gets too close

He touches, he smiles.

His nearness is discomfort,

Nearly agonizing instance of pain.

I must flee; I must be free of him.

Pain:

A thought persistent

First glance brings on more thoughts

Swirling head; confusion

What is to remain?

The panicked thought I focus on

Over and over twisting naivety with darkness

Till my head screams names

The ones that have cursed me, spurned me,

Laughed at me to my face.

What is to be done?

Must I endure silence or do I scream

“Stop this game.”

Overwhelming anger, sadness, loneliness, heartbreak

Chest pain, breathlessness, stomach pain

“I must avenge myself, It’s the only way.”

Hate:

“I’ll make you see, I’ll make you feel, I’ll tell the world.”

My bane, my existence, my dread.

“You’ll feel my pain and you’ll wonder why”

Could it have been averted?

I will spew my pain of forbidden ecstasy threw horror you can feel.

So tell me, does my silence offend, does my desire discomfort. Will you say you can hear me now?

Tragedy:

Where once was silence, only pain’s screams remain.

Tears of sadness, pain, anger & gnashing of teeth.

Holes of dread, disgust hatred for his treachery.

How can this be understood, when love seems dead and evil reigns.
