Bigger and Greater Things

Location

Drooping eyes

Even louder sighs,

Crossed arms and tapping feet.

Minds like butterflies,

but hearts like kittens--

Always yearning for something more,

imagining they are something more,

but they are not lions.

They are merely kittens, stretching their arms and legs

to reach something bigger, to be bigger

and greater.

And then the bell rings.

To me it seems a warning,

but to them its a song--

telling them they can move on to bigger and greater things.
