The Bird Devours

Peck.

A stolen fire.

Rip.

Humanity’s freedom.

Shred.

Your salvation.

Tear.

My Heart.

Scratch.

And here I stand,

Claw.

Naked, and alone.

Screech.

The thunder roared.

Grow.

I was captured.

Peck

The warmth of the flame just barely left my hand.

Rip

Your enlightenment

Shred

At the cost of my life.

Tear.

And yet if you asked me to do it again,

Scratch.

When my heart grows back once more,

Claw

In a heart beat.

Screech.                                                                      Grow.
