Birthdays

Birthdays are just a reminder
Of the day you were born
It's not that you've grown older
Just another year around the sun
Be the young
you want to be

Your age is but a number
A component of identity
But you are only as old, as your
heart says you should be.
Be the young
you want to be.

Sure, those silvers may appear
And joint pains are every where
But never submit to the stigma
That you are growing old
Be the young
you want to be.

You may sometimes forget,
why you've opened a door
You may even be wonder why,
you've refrigerated your keys, yet,
be the young
you want to be.

Dance away insecurities
Sing in the face of your fears
Just don't ever be defined
Because of your birthdays, always
be the young
you want to be.
