Bittersweet Harmony

There is a dark presence that lurks

Within us all

It takes the shape of shadows

Where it can be found is far from the light

On the edge of the

frayed

Stressed

And torn

It begins to grow cold

And festers

And leaves a bruise

it beats in sync

To the melody of

The cacophony of silence

And sometimes we dance to it

While those who those who watch from afar

Deem us lost in our own trenches

But they simply could not hear the music

Of the lost

What they do not realize is they may grow lost

Trying to understand mine

But sometimes to find the light

We must risk the darkness

In you, them, and me
