Blasé Blasé

Sun, 01/01/2017 - 23:11 -- Bravo

As we were walking

she started talking

caught me off guard

started asking me questions

and the questions were hard

I could tell she was scarred

by the way that she asked

D..Did you hear me calling ?

Yelling from the top of my lungs

Did you see me falling

from that latter as I broke every rung

On my way down

did you hear the sounds

escape from my tongue

high notes and crescendos

for the hero unsung

The Born pariah

The oddball

did you hear me call out

did you see me lose my grip slip and fall through the clouds

did you see me panic

as a grasped for the air

but to no avail because nothing was there

Did you see the wind reach in my eyes

and pull out my tears

my only fear

is that my cries will always fall on deaf ears

surrounded by peers who look and stare

too caviler

too insensitive

too inconsiderate

to worry or care.
