Born Free

I cannot do this anymore!

Pretend not to see the pain

Turn off the human part of me

Because I was born,

Free.

America the Brave!

Do we call it bravery

To reject

Those we don’t understand?

Is it right

To not take a stand?

How are we still prejudiced

Against a color

Against love

Against religion?

No. I am not free,

Because of where I was born.

I just happen to be

White

Straight

Christian.

It’s not to late

Before my very eyes I see

This generation begin to change

The way we act

The way we think

And I want to be a part of that
