That Boy

I hesitated but I did it,

Kidnapping some jerk to help a different one

And in less than a minute,

He’s on his feet having a ton of fun

He acted just like I had

Like it’s all a flimsy game

I lacked the bravery to show I’m glad

That he protected me all the same.

And imagine my surprise

When mister popular can’t play in tune

But has the passion to summon music too?

This idiot,

                This child,

                                This fair-haired dummy

Saved the day

And my angel’s gone away

Or maybe this idiot stole him from me
