For Brave

Phrases that just try to argue with it because I know when I've encountered perfection

I try to counter it, avoid it, for having competition, stringing the consonants and waiting for words

Trying to find some way to stop and face up to the songs, so I start with

Did you ever know that the darkness never had to be chosen the enemy?

Did you ever know the warmth like watching your thing from behind the scenes

Saying what you will not paying attention to anything that might, may not matter

Not saying you're wrong but there are complications, don't want to think

I have never seen a fire so bright as backstage, where I've always taken my place

That you've brought down to the level of a cage so let them give permission, let me stay in the corner

Let me be myself and I'm quiet I warned her. But don't underestimate me

And the silent shouting written word, expression full of safety, because fiction is available

To ease uncertainty. And I don't care if one big metaphor is possible or recognized

But it's better than some truth that turns out to be my old lie, thinly disguised

Don't underestimate the quiet, because in my experience the words are there too

That exist even if it's never bright enough so don't let our world come undone with

Persuasive nonsense and waxy unforgiving words from the other side

Telling us stories of greener grass when we can't even see. Telling us we're hiding

But this is our way of life. Not saying you're wrong because I wouldn't dare,

Just don't underestimate us. We are brave in ways you can't have imagined, so

-Here's for brave, and sing quiet.

So a little girl constellation. So take my hand and lead me into the darkness.

The metaphor ends in an explosion to stardust. Now this is far to familiar for me to say

Anything about. Take me. And my wish to be able to confide

Has led me elsewhere. The sun in your eyes and catching me when the bough breaks

From under my feet. The wounds that I let bleed because they remind me

And a want more than anything that you would only notice. I would try if I had more time here.

Chasing the sun and all that. You and the other one, your soundtracks haunt me.

I've found no way to be rid of them. Nobody is king or queen.

I know I'm not strong. But I'm not weak either.

Remember what might be fiction.
