broken branches

falling leaves
oh they swirl so silent
drifting almost too quite
for they die in mass

their support was broken
taken from them
leaving them to all hit hard
on the cold snowy ground

but one sad leaf
a lonely blood red
clings to her place on
her broken branch of pale bone

all alone now
why not just fall and give up
no one is left so
why cling with such desperation

No ones knows though
Only that leaf holds her secret close
The reason for her secluded struggle
Hidden in its veins of ruby
