Can I Love?

Can I love?

It would be peaceful, like a dove.

But I truly doubt I can.

I never have before now,

So I don’t know how.

Do you love me?

Your emotions aren’t quite easy to see.

But I truly doubt you do.

It’s not always easy to know,

When the arrow has left Aphrodite’s bow.

Do I love you?

My emotions may not be true.

But I truly doubt they aren’t.

Your beauty is untamed,

Making my emotions unashamed.

Will you hurt me?

If so, I feel I should flee.

But I truly doubt you will.

I overcome my issues of trust,

In order to love, that is a must.

Can I love?

The answer….

Yes.

Do you love me?

The answer….

Yes.

Do I love you?

The answer….

Yes.

Will you hurt me?

Never.
