Can You Hear Me Now?

They sit there huddled together, lips quivering, hands broken and lifeless, Society’s expectations hovering over their heads. They can’t escape it. They can’t escape this fucked up situation; this shit hole. Their eyes are filled with pain and confusion. Darkness echoes in their lungs, burning them from the inside out. I saw them broken and scared, trying to break through, But always falling short, always falling deeper and deeper into the unknown. They scratch at their skin, trying to be someone they are not. As they sit there and bleed out, I watch them shut their eyes as the blade digs deeper; trying to escape the fear and hate they are forced to live in. Their minds are far gone, lost in the concentration camps of society that they were unwillingly forced to die in. Their physical bodies left here to rot in Hell as the rest of us carry on with our pathetic lives. They bow their heads in silence and pray to the one that left them here alone. But their fear drives them to believe in Him. The youth are fucked due to the harsh reality that they are drowning in; heads trying to break through the cold surface. No doubt the corruption society brings forward. I saw them try to walk away but society had wrapped its cold, bony, lifeless hands around their necks, choking them into oblivion. And the almighty creator of Heaven and Earth sat there and watched. For He did nothing as they sat there Digging deeper Pushing harder Overdosing on the bitterness they face, making their tongues stained with deep, dark red. But He, who created man, did nothing. They say He has a plan for us. Society is blocking our way, forcing us to bow down and accept defeat at the feet of the enemy. I saw them trying to be everything that was expected of them, only to fall short yet again. Criticism running thick through their toxic veins, doping up on what shouldn't be. No one is there to show them the right path as they struggle to gain acceptance. It’s a poor attempt. I saw them get fucked up by society and knew they wouldn't make it. And I walked away, a silent understanding that they were too far gone, And so was I.
