Cancer Researcher

Everywhere I look

Death lurks

Claiming victims all around me

The struggle of survival isn't anything new

Death is coming slowly

With or without a plea

What if I could change all that?

To know I helped save the lives of others

There is no better reason to live

Mothers wouldn't cry over their sons and daughters

Children wouldn't long for their taken fathers

Oh, what I'd do to give

A fighting chance to those with that terrible plague on mankind

Daddy's gone

He is no more

Neither are Aunt Julie and Uncle George

There's a cure out there somewhere

An answer to the end of these tragedies

Cancer just can't win in this lifetime

I will do anything

Even fall down on my knees

I know it's too late to save him

But I promised him I would try

to find that cure to this twisted illness

So no other child must see cancer take their parents' lives
