Candle

Location

Her eyes glistened from the tears

Spilling down her face.

She is forced to confront her fears,

Move against her own pace.

She lost him too soon,

Against her own will.

Now each time she looks at the moon,

She gets a shuddering chill.

The war took him away.

Like a candle-Life is brief.

He was stolen today-

There is no time for grief.

She glances over the ledge,

Breath escapes her body- thereof

Prepared to take the plunge-

To join her true love.
