Cell Phone Mayhem

I've thought about what I'd do if I could make a change,

Just one change to the world, but boy does it sound strange.

I would take away all cell phones like they never did exist,

Help people to communicate, but not just through their wrists.

People would talk face-to-face and not just over text,

Real-life connections are the way to communicate best.

Nothing would be misunderstood or misconstrued somehow,

We could see each other's emotions, what texts don't allow.

Getting rid of all the cell phones will also help us to,

Fix distracted drivng, making streets safer for me and you.

No more checking Snapchat when driving an automobile,

No more uploading Instagram pics while behind a car's whee.

Making driving safer is not the only good cause,

Cyber-bullying made easier is another cell phone flaw.

If cell phones did not exist, then it would be harder for,

Bullies to be cruel online, making children happy more.

The last thing I have to say about the cell phone mayhem,

People don't see the world's beauty or appreciate the things around them.

They are too focused on their phones, never looking up from a screen,

Life is passing by so quickly, but phones are coming between.

The problem with cell phones is they are way too overused,

Yes they can be helpful, but right now they are abused.

So if I could make just one change to better the world we live in,

I would take the cell phones out and to me that's a win.
