A Chance

Location

A look

A smile

A nose turned up

A small crinkle in the heart

Eye contact made

A quick little wave

A sharp piercing glare

Eye contact broke

Out on the street

A gentle shoulder bump

A small apologetic smile

Hateful words of spite

A turban

A Hijab

Tan colored skin

Unprovoked terrified thoughts

Praying

Worshiping

Sharing one’s love

Cut down for all to see

Dark man on a street

Fast pacing heart

A rush to the other side

A sad broken smile

Prejudice

To Pre Judge

Dehumanizing

Separate spheres of life

Black: Blood and Bones

White: Blood and Bones

Yellow: Blood and Bones

Red: Blood and Bones

Different outside

The same within

Different in life

But the same within

Then just one

All it takes

Ripple effect

What it creates

Love

Friendship

Non-Prejudice
Acceptance.
