Change

Location

Of all the things that need changing,

I cannot choose just one.

This is not about me.

I am a part of the grand scheme.

Michael Brown was not murdered so I can fight for gay marriage

US murder statistics of trasngenders has not led to the Chapel Hill shootings.

There is not one problem to change, but a series.

Each component makes up this huge picture,

no more connected than you and I,

but continuously feeding from each other.

The world is not safe.

While our soldiers are fighting what the country deems a threat in different places,

the biggest threat is here.

A compilation of each and every one of us

sit down

ask yourself

"what have I done?"

If you do not have an answer, you have not asked yourself the question.

This poem is about:
Me
My family
My community
My country
Our world
