Change is Coming

We live in a world where hate is still here

We live in a world where you can be an unarmed black man but still get the nine bullets to your back

Speaking up equals speaking back

Tweeting how you feel just shows who you are in 240 characters

You can wake up without a care in the world, but know your neighbor could get deported even though she has been living in America for 30 years

You watch your son turn 18 but know that he may not be a minor anymore but he is still a minority

The system is screwed

I turn my dreams to reality, so what does that look like?

I want to see more unity, more love, and less tweeting

Show up to rallies, bring signs and make sure your voice is being heard

The days are winding down, it is never to late to start and make a change

I wish to change what America looks like and how other countries view us

I worry about our future generations and what’s to come

If we can’t save ourselves who will save us

Only time will tell what is left of this so-called great country we call The United States Of America

How united are we actually? How safe are we? Do we live by the amendments’ or just by our values and morals?

Don’t think about it for too long or you could blink and be just a thought and a trending hashtag

We need the change so everyone that lives here feels safe and welcomed

We need the change so the frowns and angry faces turn into smiles and happy faces

The thought of losing a loved on is too close to home, but where is home if someone takes it away?

Log off the computer, turn off the phone and go outside. Make a difference in yourself first to later change what you want the world you live in to look like.
