change will come [not written by me, written by a close friend]

i sit on the curb The sun streams down on the dark streets The sun-lit happiness stains my ever grim face A cup A cart A piece of cardboard A dirty backpack carries my only possesions This is just me not anything i was told i could be Life is not easy but when i look to the sun its bright streams of hope light my way on a dark path the winding path of life The lonely street performer is my only company maybe today i'll get a couple of dimes maybe today there will be no crime so i'll pack my bag and head downtown keep my head up and smile show no frown.
