To Change the World...

Location

What good would Earth be,

if in our hearts,

deep and glowing hate bleeds?

A world colored in war,

from the words we speak,

to the skin-deep wounds which we bore.

We sing Hallelujah,

preaching scriptures of peace and love.

Yet face to face,

to our brothers and sisters,

we speak them ill like crud.

If one wishes a better world,

you have to begin from within,

and let our voices ring through the night,

singing "One World" as we hold hand in hand,

dreaming of harmony,

and watching it unfurl.

I want to change the hearts of mankind,

reminding the simplicity of love,

to stop all wars and hate,

and teach them to embrace.

For  what good would Earth be,

if in our hearts,

deep and glowing hate bleeds?
