Chemical Affair

Dancing on the floor

Singing cheerful songs

The world rotates for each movement that is made

Stained in vibrant hue are the lights that illuminate the room

Going around like a carousel

Synchronizing to every beat

Within the crowd of dancers

A certain someone reaches out

His hand, batted away, now filled with bile

Poisoned by the chemicals that were inside the heart

The concept of compassion and caring are nowhere near alike

Something that the holder has failed to see

A blind soul

A blind mind

Is what she has

The dancers start to flee when a rumbling sound is heard

The certain someone joins in too

Not looking back, leaving her behind

Caverns form on the ground

Releasing a cloud of green chemicals

The effects of the poison?

Suffocation and disintegration

Hitting all, but the lone holder

Their presence fill the sky

Blocking out the view

But she doesn’t care

She knows that she brought it upon herself

The plague

The pain

The shame

The abandonment

And the decomposition of her own fragile heart
