Tears of relief

Tears of worry

Tears of triumph

All these are tears I once had shed

 

Some while I carried you

Some while I held you

Some while I wanted you

Some while I didn’t

Some while you were there

Some while you weren’t

All these are reasons I struggled

 

Since I had someone I loved

Since I lost the one I loved

Since I had a family

Since my family stopped caring

Since I had a new family

Since my family was small

All these are why I care

 

With this child I will live

With this child I may strive

With this child I cry no more

With this child I give my life

With this child I show my love

With this child I will love again

All these are why I love my child

 

Because it was with that child that I found my strength

Because it was with that child I learned to truly love

Because it was with that child I learned to struggle

Because it was with that child I knew sacrifice

Because it was with that child I saw a new light

Because it was with that child I learned the lengths of my love

All these are why I still live for my child
