Young black girl skin-tone dark as night.

Not insecure but her mind aint right.

If ever told she beautiful she see it as a lie.

Hate compliments but she don't know why.

Ever since she can remember darker was never better.

Even a brighter day means it a be better weather.

always been talked about because the color of her skin.

Oil spot, midnight the list of names could never end.

Should she blame America for giving beauty a certain limit.

Or just blame herself for not knowing that she been it.

Baby girl the color of your skin just helps you stand out.

But yo features is what kept all they attention no doubt.

From the wet look in yo eyes to the dimple in yo right cheek.

But most of all its yo personality that make'em weak.

Lil chocolate girl when they say you beautiful take it in consideration.

Cause baby you are so let go of that hesitation.
