Christmas Joy

Christ

Jesus

Our Savior

Has come

Down to the earth

And humbled

Became a human

For sinners’ sake

Only a little child

He became so small

He grew in our sinful world

He lived perfectly

He experienced anguish, pain

He lived through what brings us death

He did everything perfectly well

And then we killed Him on a tree

God sent His son for us, His enemies

And we repaid Him through His son’s death

But then Jesus our Savior rose from the dead

He conquered sin and death, He brought us life

He befriended us, though we were His enemies

He loves us more than He hates the sin we brought

My Christ, my Lord, my Savior I thank you for it all

You loved us to death, and then you gave us life

I’ll praise your name forever, including earth and heaven

Jesus Christ

Saving Lord
