The City of Theodore Alabama

Location

THE CITY OF THEODORE ALABAMA

As darkness falls
Upon the city of Theodore Alabama
The shops all close
Their keepers lock thrice with the same key
All of this followed by a sprint to their cars
They then hit the gas only to bullet away
Away from the swiftly falling darkness, the same darkness Feared by all, here in the city of Theodore Alabama.
As the streets empty
And as the lights dim
Three trucks pull out of the shadows
A dark figure of white steps out of an alley
He gives a sharp whistle
And three identical figures step out of each truck
He then moves his in hands strange ways
Almost as if giving out orders
Then all ten figures vanished
And in the thick blackness of the night
I see a fire in the distance
And as I get closer
I find that, that innocent fire
Is really a burning cross
The powerful slogan of the Klan
I then hear a black man's cry in the distance
So in panic I run to the site of the terrible scream
I then see the men in robes yelling out curses and chants
They've lost him
And in all the confusion they saw me
And they tackled me to the ground
They punched me
They kicked and beat me
And now only half conscious I feel a rope being wrapped Around my neck
From there all I remember was being thrown into the trunk Of a car, then the car stopping in front of my parent's house
And as they pulled on The rope, yelling at me each time
“Nigger, do you believe in white supremacy?”
Finally killing me on the third pull
I remember, as they pulled that final pull, thinking to Myself, what will my parents think when they find their Only son hanging dead in their backyard, off of his Own Tree house, that is if I don’t find them first
And what will the town think when all that’s left of this Klan Attack in the morning is a dead body and the ashes of A burnt cross
All in the town of Theodore Alabama.
