Cold Night

Location

There's just something about kissing in the cold

At night, of course. This would never get old.

Like when you're outside saying goodbye,

And he pulls you in close so your bodies collide.

When he slides those strong arms to your backside,

You feel safe and warm with him on your side.

And as you share a kiss to seal your farewell

You feel a burst of heat, but you can't tell

....If it's his lips or his whole body

That make your sensitivities suddenly so starving.

You don't want to part away from him

Take that heat, leave you cold outside and in.

No, you stay longer just for one more chance

To feel the love, the heat, and his feverish glance.

Just him and you now, not even the cold can touch

The bubble of heat that is you and him, the bubble called "us."

And yes, the cold is still there; It feels like icyhot.

Adding a little tingle, an edge, like a vodka shot.

So kiss him twice, kiss him again...

It's such a beautiful sight.

There's nothing more exciting, even in writing, as kissing

On a cold night.

To the man who inspired this poem, who I'll call "LA"
