Collective Insecurity

last night i took a look

in your bright blue eyes

your smile was sweet

your arms were nice

we spent the day

reminicing about our lives

of random funny shit

and our old broken ties

I felt closer

and more mesmerized

but the next day

i could only fantasize

My nerves were caving in

as our conversations grew thin

a reassuring kiss

would still bring me bliss

I conjured up excuses

for why you were so shy

my insecurity took over

asking what you didn't like

Though i still have hope

everything is fine

the next time that i see you

you will be mine
