Color

Should I be afraid to walk outside because underneath my clothes is a black man inside?  Who is the child underneath the white sheets being gun down while playing with his toy in the streets?   A mother is crying, down on her knees, for her child's life has been taken by the hands of the police.  There’s a man standing in the streets, he's done nothing wrong, pleading “I can't breath”.  We live in a nation where the system fails us, injustice is the proof, with our hands up we shout "HANDS UP DON'T SHOOT!"  Is this the dream Dr. King spoke about? Black on black crime, drive-bys, and shootouts.? THIS IS AMERICA LAND OF THE BOLD AND FREE! But how come I’m not free to be me?   We can no longer be a prisoner with the vision but a pioneer paving the way with precision.  We must step out and be bold because remember they can scratch through the color of your skin but they can never scratch do the color of your soul. Benetta the Bold
