The Color of Fire

Perpetuate this racist culture
Fuel the ignorance, ignite one another
Spewed are words from hateful brothers
As they stare at the inter colored lovers
This isn't the 50s
But this time machine city
Has taught me nothing is really what it should be
We don't look at the road ahead
But stare in the rearview mirror instead
Progress isn't lost, but it's buried
Hate breeds hate
And the hateful marry
And the married carry on thru kin
That different colored skin is worse than a sin
They say don't touch them
Yea they'll infect us, with their loud slang words and gang sign gestures
And I think we're moving forward
But somethin takes me back
And I quickly realize, we're not making different tracks
Not taking different paths
Not changing and fixing what we lack
And every race is walls up on the attack
This blending pot of division
Isn't what the great king envisioned
This facade hides remission
Of our isolated condition
Im beginning to see this is what it isn't
Now his dream isn't dead, but it is asleep
We need to wake up, change our thoughts, sleep, repeat
