Complication

Wed, 08/10/2016 - 18:16 -- Karissa

I stand.

I look up and see such a beautiful view,

a view of a future that a desperately long to pursue.

It seems so close, if I just reach out my hand.

I try to float to this dream, but I remain where I stand.

The reason I stay is a rope bound so tight

around me that there is no point in putting up a fight.

I want to go up up so badly, but I know this will never be

the harder I pull te harder the rope tightens around me

It may seem easy to cut this rope and float far away to the dream above the ground,

But truth be told, I desperately love this rope that holds me down.
