Compromise

you really could be delectable

but…

i can’t take you home

you’re too much

i wish you were less

“not that i would ever” dictate how your body should be

And yet…

you’re just so much

you could dance on my tongue

enlivening my spirit with yours

if only you were less of yourself

more of me, perhaps
