Conformity
I am surrounded by the need to conform
But I refuse to
I will forever be unique
My mask is introversion
It shields me well
Because of it I am independent but often alone
I shed my mask
Around family and friends
I shed my mask
When I feel comfortable
I shed my mask
And become extroverted
But as I step back out into the world
I return my mask to my face
For I do not want to be blemished
By society’s norms
