Constructed of Hope

Location

Pieces, flickerings, memories, they stay with me.

Whether desired or damned, they are specs that collect.

They are elements of me.

And from them, I am. I tick.

I can’t escape what I’ve lived.

I’ve struggled to ignore it.

But it’s here, with me.

I am my mother’s girl.

My father’s daughter.

The loner.

The pessimist.

Her.

I’ve become someone anew.

The child amidst chaos.

A parent to her siblings, herself.

Who knew to change her future.

She who fought alone, for others.

Forget those

negligent,     alcoholic        parents.

The child who cried for peace.

The persistent.

Me.

I know what I live for. Who I live for.

It’s my destiny to bring change.

To rally against social norms,

defy the stereotypical,

with peace as my ally.

IN a world of CHAOS,

Guard delicate rights

To brandish a world I’m proud of.

Pleas for humanity won’t go unheard.

A voice

    An ear

        A heart for all.

Hands clasped tight.

Slowly piecing their own;

Through the fragments of aged and true

molding together, a new clay.

Constructed of hope.

She’ll fight for others, to change their future.
