The Crew

The storm was closing in

The ship wouldn’t survive

The Captain told us to take the lifeboat

“Go back home to your wives”

We all piled in

But we didn’t want to leave

The Captain was adamant

And told us to just believe

We looked at the Captain

Begged him to come once more

He took a swig of his drink

And said “Life is dull, I’m bored”

We didn’t know what he meant

Life was always an adventure

Along with the people that loved us

Who would be with us for sure

The ship drifted away

We all were crying

But the Captain was solid as a rock

He just kept smiling

We eventually got to Land

We found our way home

We hugged our wives and kids

We would never be alone
