The Cries of The Ghost At The El Paso Walmart

Tue, 09/17/2019 - 21:02 -- N2QM

26 dead and 22 injured

One more young life lost

One more future gone

He was just fifteen

Yet not the only gone

All it took was one gun

One racist thought fuelled by xenophobia

Then a hate filled racist manifest

Full of lies

Much like our President Cheetos tweets

A surprise?

Then nineteen minutes later

911 was called

There had been a mass shooting

The Walmart

At El Paso Texas

Died that day

Drowned in blood

I still hear his cries

Mourning the people lost

The people fighting to stay alive, but not

The Maze Runner, just instead the people were brown and being chased by a white nationilist with an AK-47 style rifle

Yet they still helped each other

And so the baby survived

She still hears the echoes of the shots that killed her parents

The blood stained and it turned brown

This mass shooting

Targeting the hispanic people

Caused by lies

Made us all weep

It was a racist act

A domestic terrorist attack

Said so even by the FBI

But as I weep I no more tears

Because this is not the first nor the last time we will cry

But I we will stand up like always

Don’t see it in the american history book because they discriminate

And that hate is what we are fighting against

So we persist

And unite

We stay strong

We all share the grief

We all are El Paso
