Crossroad

Darling, I know I needed to decline.

My betrayal is unforgivable.

I’m unable to see the grand design.

A life without you is unlivable.

Do not tell me our life has been a lie.

Struck with fear, I don’t know what you’ve chosen.

My heart is breaking to hear you cry, “why”.

Beside our bed, your figure is frozen.

Flooded with warmth, you place your hand in mine.

We have stuck side by side through all these years.

Suddenly I know in time we’ll be fine.

I struggle with uncontrollable tears.

You cannot deny all that we’ve been through.

You don’t have to love me, but you still do.
