Crybaby
This thought clings to me
—pulling me down or
—tugging at my arm
I'll take a class on how it works
I'll watch a show to see it's a curse
I'll think of its face
—but will it be mine?
Sometimes in my mind
I'll play out scenarios where we play
and you'll giggle
and I'll cry because you're mine
But is it right?
—to assume I'll have this life?
If I chop off my head—
will fate step in?
Will it produce something unnatural from within?
A tumor instead of a heartbeat
But what if mine can't beat for another?
Won't beat for two
Sometimes I just think
—I can't give my life to you
So cry all you want
Scream for a past that might never see you
Maybe someday I'll be there
Or maybe in another life is best
—and if I never have you
May you still always be mine
Keep waiting for a change
—a chance
—a life
