Daddy's Little Girl

Daddy’s Little Girl

Daddy’s little girl stares with eyes so bright.

So much admiration in just one glance,

She twirls and sings, the world is full of joy.

The years go by and things start to change.

Daddy’s no longer a superhero.

He’s just another man with the world on his shoulders.

He doesn’t see her way, and things start to waver.

Daddy’s little girls slips slowly away.

And then the boys come to play.

She doesn’t understand why he’s so tense.

“Daddy open your eyes, can’t you see he cares?”

But daddy says “no, there are more important things.

He’s just a distraction focus on your work.”

When the break up happens,

The world turns black and daddy’s her hero once again.

He picks her up and brushes her off.

Together they glue the pieces back.

She’s daddy’s girl once again

She does the work; she’s the perfect little girl.

But the boy never left her heart.

How can she tell daddy that she wants him back?

But she has to because she feels so empty.

The boys back but she can’t escape those sad eyes.

Daddy will tell her it’s her choice, but the eyes,

The eyes say different.

And yet she tries her best.

Daddy’s girl, don’t mention that boy.

Don’t let your guard down, daddy’s always watching.

Your laugh is noisy; your voice is too loud.

Be good and watch what you say, don’t disturb.

No more laughter, everything must be serious.

It’s time to grow up; at least that’s what daddy says.

Things will never be like they used to be.

Why can’t it be like it was before?

Daddy is no longer a superhero.

He cannot fix everything,

And she must accept this fact.

Things have changed.

The years go by and daddy’s girl knows.

He wasn’t  just another with world on his shoulders,

Or a family to take care of.

Daddy was and is the truest superhero that ever was.

Daddy’s little woman stares with eyes so bright,

So much fear and sadness in one glance.

She works and toils, holding daddy’s memory in her heart.

The world is so full of pain.

Parents are so essential to our lives. My parent's have always been there, and through the years sometimes we forget to let them know how much we care, because they have been through it all with us.

The Last four lines because it helps me remember how much I love my dad
