Darkness

Hello old friend, we meet again.
I will let you, Darkness, settle in.
It's been too long, don't you think?
Here, sit down, I'll pour you a drink.
I've missed your little lies and they way you used to speak to me.
I've missed the way things used to be.

You've gotten stronger, Darkness, my old friend.
You're making all of my thoughts start to blend.
Around and around; they go around.
Spinning me, pulling me to the ground.
"Why bother to keep trying?
Let go of your fears, you wouldn't mind dying,"
You're forever whispering in my ears.
You're forever feeding off my tears.

My mind is now hazy, I am numb.
"Now child, it is time to come."
I have no choice but to go.
There's so much only Darkness can show.

This poem is about:
Me
My family
Our world
