day two

It's a sad day
on Lancaster
Get fifty a day
Living this way
Makes for a sad day
Tip toe around
Left out on the ground
No one else but yourself around
Somedays I cry looking for a meal to eat but everyday I pray for a new day for some change to happen where will I lay my head out in the street tonight
Like a dog outside begging for food and water this is my life ever since I left the War that I signed up for then order to fight
All my friends dead and gone nobody but me in sight dear God I thank you every day for walking with me for carrying me thru the sand giving me a place to lay watching over me
And saving my life every single day
It's a great day on Lancaster
Wake up at three leave at four on foot be at the sign up sheet by five
Wait for my name to be called
To get my ticket for work leave at eight
Come on back by four cash my check by five pay the bills and I'm back to broke living day to day it ain't no joke
